Board of Trustees

The Bertrand Board of Trustees is elected every four years at the time of the presidential election.  The board consists of Supervisor, Clerk, Treasurer, and two Trustees.

Township Board Meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of every month at 7pm.   Meetings are held at the Bertrand Township Hall.

Planning Commission

The Commission is responsible for conducting public hearings & providing recommendations to the Township Board.

Planning Commission meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month at 7pm.  Meetings are held at the Bertrand Township Hall.

• Bertrand Charter Township Treasurer Kuhn is requesting that payments be made by mail or at our township drop off box .  Treasurer Kuhn will be available by phone or make an appointment to discuss any tax issues.

• Tax Payments can be made by check, money order or cash.  We don’t accept credit cards.

Summer Property Tax Bills

• Bertrand Charter Township Treasurer Kuhn is requesting that payments be made by mail or at our township drop off box.  Treasurer Kuhn will be available by phone or make an appointment to discuss any tax issues.
• Mailed on July 1st of each year
• Due by September 14th of that year
• Please make checks payable to “Bertrand Charter Township ” and send to:

  Buchanan MI  49107
• Payments may also be received at the Charter Township Office during regular business hours or the drop box is available after hours
• Reminder: postmarks are not accepted as date of payment.
• Please have exact payment if you are paying with cash.
• We don’t accept credit cards at this time.

Winter Property Tax Bills

• Mailed on December 1st of each year
• Due by February 14th of that year
• Please make checks payable to “Bertrand  Charter Township” and send to:

• Payments may also be received at the Bertrand Charter Township Office during regular business hours or the drop box is available after hours
• Reminder: postmarks are not accepted as date of payment
• Please have exact payment if you are paying with cash.
• All Late Summer and Winter Tax payments from February 14 thru February 28 are subject to 3 percent late penalty. 
• Please contact Berrien County Treasurer’s Office if paid on or after March 1, 2023
• We don’t accept credit cards at this time.
